Take this gabapentin. Less risks involved. At first I felt it wasn't doing anything because in hindsight the Prednisone (steroids) were much more powerful. Tried "Gaba" again a few weeks later and I felt it starting to work but in a differant way. Where steroids were interacting with inflamation, Gabapentin seemed to be interacting with my mind if that makes any sense. It worked with the pain fairly well and as an added positive side effect it kind of worked as an Anti-depressive, anti-anxiety, anti- fatigue, mood enhancing, sleep promoting Pharmiceutical. Well today I had my first epedural steroid injection and all pain is gone and with a micro discsectomy sceduled here in the near future I am three days off of this inexpensive little wonder drug with no withdrawals. nothing but good things to say about Gabapentin.Count Töadlipé Frógriguez the 3rd écrit: This stuff is evil.cheryl taylor écrit: Pregbalin TinnitusBlair Sterling écrit: I have very uncomfortable side effects..not fun…vision disturbances,

But if you try getting off it, that is where I had major problems. I tried to quit quite a few times, once cold turkey, and other times by reducing with the doctor. I was off it for 6 weeks and although my anxiety came back I felt better off it. I went back on it because I was waking every night with my heart racing and sweating immensely. My bed sheets would be soaking, my hair was so drenched is sweat that it was like I'd just washed it, soaking. I worked at a textile company on ring frame spinning machines. The gaba made me 'jump' causing my arms and hands to go dangerously close to the dangerous spinning machines whilst I was working on them. On the plus side my life long depression has become bearable because the gaba makes me feel slightly doped up which numbs all the crushing symptoms of Generalised Depression. For this reason I want to stay on Gaba despite the negatives.Emirafoods écrit: This drug is the WORST. All I am suggesting is when your system is bombarded with meds that alter serotonin/dopamine, high doses of Neurontin/Gaba(same thing), which is ALSO a KNOWN Serotonin elevator, shit can go sideways.
If you think Neurontin/Gaba does not elevate serotonin, you are mistaken. "National Library of Medicine 1998 PMID: 9551785 DOI: 10.1016/s0920-1211(97)00084-3 "Gaba is associated with an auxiliary subunit of voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels… gabapentin inhibits voltage-activated Na+ channels… Gabapentin increases serotonin concentrations in human whole blood, which may be relevant to neurobehavioral actions." So I’ve been on Lamotrigine for almost two years now, which has never really done anything side effect wise for me, but has never fully stopped seizures unless Ive taken something else on top as well… Clobazam wasn’t great, Keppra made me very angry… then was Topiramate which is the worst thing I’ve ever put in my body. Had to get off that stuff fast… and now it’s Lamotrigine and Gabapentin… That’s the only combination that has stopped any big tonic clonic ones for me from happening over the last 6 months or so… still have some minor weird partial seizures still… but overall my neurologist thinks I’ve got a weird situation as it stands….. the biggest thing for me that Gabapentin has done is I’ve definitely gained weight/ fat mostly, it definitely makes me more hungry. The biggest problem for me is what it does to my short term memory… it’s very very bad… so we will see, I’m heading to another neurologist this month, I may be an advocate for trying something else, even though gabapentin for me (I’m not even on a very high dose, only 300mg twice a day) seems to be the only thing with Lamotrigine that I’ve tried so far that actually works… so it is a good drug.Living Life écrit: I feel drunk , super tired and off balance, HOW is this better? All four find it difficult to do steps.so i.will be putting in a.ramo.very soon. Its arthritis I'm sure…and so.says the vet.

My vet…I live in the boonies…they treat a lot of large animals…anyway he put them on this. I SEE.ZERO HELP IN THIS…and I now have four ancient dogs on this…
And another drug that.doesnt.help.either.carprophen …. They still obviosly still really hurt when they walk….but bless their pack loving hearts…they still want to go for a tiny walk. … but can barely do it..lord help me if one.refuses totally to go on. They are all big dogs..lol

..I noticed that one dog became unable to.tell when he poops…he walks along and poops like a horse…unaware like…and even while asleep he sometimes does it… tho he is exteeemly.destressed when he poops in his bed. I know them real.well…and labs are the easiest to tell what they are thinking…which is usually just abput food and.happy happy.thoughts.

All of them get checked for damage every three months…none so far….thank.god.

AND EXPENSIVE…OMG…OMG…try four LARGE.DOGS.

I AM WORRIED ABOUT STOPPING THIS…AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF IT.IS ADDICTIVE TO THEM…I CERTAINLY DONT.WANT.TO.CAUSE THEM MORE.DISTRESS!!!! IS THIS.ADDICTIVE IN DOGS????

WHILE they are very very VERY old…which I pride myself in the good care I give them….but so am I….it is.harder to.do these days . i want them to be.comfortable and i do not.feel they are ready to be "put down" when i know they just need some relief and nursing care…they are like my babies and I'm crying….damn people who ABUSED opiates ARE MAKING THEM SUFFER…and while i have extreme empathy with people who are addicted to things….i myself STILL SMOKE..i am ANGRY OTHERS MUST SUFFER..even innocent PETS.FOR.GODS.SAKE.

I SUSPECT THAT DRUG.COMPANIES ARE PUSHING THIS EXTREEMLY EXPENSIVE …and DRi.expect EXTREEMLY.HARMFUL DRUG ON PET OWNERS BECAUSE THIS DRUG HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS…WE HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE WITH THESE DRUG.COMPANIES TIME AND TIME.AGAIN…WITH.HUMANS…while dogs and humans are so similar because we.evolved closely. For.so long…and now science has FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT…u might be able to.answer a.few of my concerns.

ANYWAY MY COUNTRY VET JUST LOOKS AT ME AND SAYS THERE ISNT ANY OTHER DRUG AND LOOKS AT ME LIKE IM.AND IDIOT.FOR NOT JUST PUTTING DOWN THESE DOGS….I suspect he is a little bit of sociopath. .. I know he cant.give any pain killers to animals because of BROKEN.HUMANS BEHAVIORS…but damn it…
.
DO U HAVE ANY POSSIBLE.THING I COULD SUGGEST FOR MY DOGS…I AM JUST.SICK OVER THE CALLOUS VET….AND IM IN THE BOONIES
..OLD MYSELF AND SHOULD NOT.DRIVE REALLY.FAR.

if I SOUNDED.EDUCATED TO HIM MAYBE I WOULD NOT BE TREATED SO.CALLOUS NOR MY.DOGS
.
LIKE I SAID I REALLY HAVE NOT.NOTICED ANY ZERO HELP .FROM THIS DRUG…NO LIMPING STOPPED EVER..NO EASE OF MOVEMENTS…ZERO!!!!
ALL I HAVE NOTICED IS THEY TAKE A MORNING NAP NO MATTER WHAT AFTER THEIR PILLS.

AND DOES NOT.EVEN LOOK LIKE A COMFORTABLE.RESTFUL.SLEEP FOR THEM.

BEFORE.THESE.PILLS.THEY WOULD.GO OUT SIDE WITH ME TO PICK UP.POOH AND AT LEAST SIT WITH ME WHILE I ATTENDED THR GARDEN TILL NOON

.
PLUS IF ITS SO.DANG PERFECT.FOR.THEIR ARTHRITIS THEN WHY DO THEY HABE TO HAVE TESTING IT HADNT.DESTROYED THEIR ORGANS
..I WISH TO HELL I WOULD NEVER OF.GIVEN THEM.THIS.DRUG…EVER…

So.basically…I guess I am asking
1. Alternative to this.drug for arthritis
2. Is this addictive in dogs
3. Warn others NOT TO.GIVE IT TO.THEIR PETS…AND I SUSPECT ONCE AGAIN BIG PHARMA IS TEYI G TO PULL.A.FAST ONE USING VETERINARIANS LIME THEY USE TO DO WITH DOCTORS OF HUMANS.Catherine Meakin écrit: Can you do a video on Pregabolin, please?Black Berry lady écrit: Really helps me….Thank God 4 it…Heart of a Raven écrit: So far it has been my go to for opioid withdrawals.
